2016 - Stronghold
Frankenstein
FIRST Stronghold requires robots to cross defenses that vary based on the decisions of the opponent alliance. Once past the defense, the robot must launch boulders (foam balls) at the opponents' tower. Once the keep has been hit 8 times, the tower 'falls' and the robots may capture the tower. Frankenstein's custom engineered treads allowed for versatile defense penetration.
Totes Ma' Gotes
In Recycle Rush, the robot has to stack totes on a platform and then place a recycling can on top of the tote stack and then finally place debris (pool noodles ) inside the trash can. Our robot was able to stack and transport stacks of up to two totes. What Totes Ma' Gotes lacked in capacity it made up for in speed and efficiency, making it easier for our alliances to create full stacks.

The Flipping Flinger
Our robot, codenamed: Flipping Flinger, invokes a lock-catapult mechanism which allows us to throw the ball over both the five foot truss and nine foot high goal. Our blue PVC arms, operated on both sides by window motors, allow us to pick up and hold the ball securely within a single second. Weighing in at 117 lbs., the Flipping Flinger can push, shove, and slam its way through any obstacle on the field. Our robot uses a system of pneumatics, electronics, and mechanical levers to accomplish various different goals.
